" Helping children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that are based on trust, respect, and positive regard."
I can relate to this because I am always trying to plan activities for children to do with their parents so they can build their growing relationships, also to help cater to positive parental involvement.
"Recognizing that children are best understood and supported in the context of family, culture, community, and society."
This reminds me of converstations that I have with my friends. They are always wondering why I like to teach children who are bad. I explain to them that children are not bad, but they are reaching out to be heard and understood and this part of the ethics explains my reasoning.
"To recognize and respect the uniqueness and the potential of each child"
Each child is special in my eyes, and what works for Sally, may not work for John. As teachers we need to recognize that and treat each child with dignity and respect and to remember that each child is capable of learning.
Good insight Kelsy.
ReplyDeleteI agree that when a child acts out for attention, it's because he/she needs attention and we should give it. You're doing a great job!

Hi Kelsy,
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading your blog over the past weeks and wish you the best as you continue on with the courses here. Perhaps we'll be in another class together as I would look forward to getting to know you better.
Julie
Kelsey,
ReplyDeleteI agree wholeheartedly that each child needs to be treated differently and with the expectation that they can and will learn! You have a great heart! I hope to see you in another course!

Hi Kelsy,
ReplyDeleteI may not post as much as others or speak on a lot of topics as others but it's only because my time is taken up by so much; baby, military (which is my full time job), house upkeep and so forth. I want to thank you for always sharing positive thoughts with me on different subject matters and encouraging me to stay focused. I'm sure you are a major asset to the programs you manage where you work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! Be blessed..
