Gavin's Dragonfly

I have a student named Gavin, he tends to stay to his self. Gavin is really creative and he loves to make things in art. I have uploaded his draogonfly. Gavin took three popsicle sticks two beans and a piece of string to make his dragonfly.
I love his creativity!!!!!

  1. Awwww! How sweet! It really touches my heart when children give me pieces of their artwork. I was at a site earlier this week doing an Enviorment Rating Scale visit. The children at the site are familiar with me becuase I also work in the Reading is Fundamental program at my office, so I visit the head start 3 times a year, in addition to visit such as this. To make a long story short, while I was sitting there observing and doing my assesment, one little girl came up to me and gave me a flower she drew while in the art center during free play! I decided to tape it to the front of my assesment tool kit that I carry with me on my visit. This reminds me that my job is appreciated by the children that I serve! Gotta love the little ones!!!!!!

  3. How simple, yet creative! It is such a joy reading everyone's discriptions of thier work with children. It's so good to hear about "free play" and "circle time". It brings back wonderful memories for me and such relief that things haven't changed that much. Aren't kids grand!
